Docutize compared

Dyrect alternatives for hardware brands

Of the warranty tools we compare, Dyrect is the closest to Docutize: software for direct-to-consumer brands, with strong registration, QR codes, a free plan and Shopify orders that register themselves. Where they differ is around the claim: Docutize adds a help center that answers from your manuals, repair guides, its own support inbox and shipping labels from the claim.

Dyrect's column is from its own website and public listings, linked at the foot of this page. "Not listed" means we couldn't find it there, not that it can't be done. Features and prices change, so check with Dyrect before you decide.

What Dyrect does well

Registration is Dyrect's strength. Customers register by QR code or a branded form, Shopify orders register themselves without using credits, and a serial number validator catches the wrong ones. Customers get a self-serve portal with their warranty status, and a claim checks eligibility against the serial number and the warranty period. Its FAQ says warranties can be set per component.

Claims can end in a repair, a replacement, a refund or a rejection, and on its top Shopify tier replacement orders are created automatically. It connects to Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix and Squarespace, to Klaviyo and other email tools, and syncs tickets to Zendesk, Freshdesk and Zoho Desk. Extended warranties can be sold at checkout.

It's easy to start: there's a free plan, paid tiers from $19 a month, and 4.9 stars from 25 reviews on the Shopify App Store when we checked, most of them praising its support. Brands on its site include Burton, Velotric and Fender Audio.

Where hardware brands find gaps

Repairs need Claims Pro. Repair and replacement workflows come with Claims Pro, at $149 a month. Each paid plan includes 100 credits a month, a credit being a registration, claim or repair a customer completes, then $0.20 a credit.

Your help desk does the talking. Dyrect lists digital product manuals and an AI agent for warranty questions, and passes tickets to your help desk. We didn't find a help center your customers can search, repair guides or an inbox of its own.

Shipping labels aren't clear. We didn't find labels on its product pages; its pricing page lists a shipping module on Enterprise.

Its FAQ and its pricing page describe the plans differently, so confirm credits and plans with Dyrect before you compare.

How Docutize is different

Both register products from Shopify and check claims against the warranty. Docutize goes further on the claim itself: customers pick the part from your catalogue with its picture, each part's cover is checked, and a serial on two accounts, a mismatched country or a repeat claim is flagged before your team reads it. Approved claims ship on your own Shippo account.

And it answers the questions first: a help center that answers from your manuals and shows its sources, step-by-step repair guides with your photos, and one inbox for your team. See how claims work.

To be fair

When Dyrect is the better choice

You want to start free

Dyrect has a free plan and paid tiers from $19 a month. Docutize starts at $49.

Dyrect can sell them at checkout. Docutize doesn't sell warranties.

Questions about Dyrect and Docutize

Is Docutize a Dyrect alternative?

Yes. Both are warranty software for brands that sell online. Dyrect is stronger on registration, QR codes and selling extended warranties; Docutize is stronger on the claim itself and the support around it, with a help center, repair guides and an inbox built in.

How much does Dyrect cost?

On the Shopify App Store: Free, Registration at $19, Claims at $49 and Claims Pro at $149 a month. Each paid plan includes 100 credits a month, then $0.20 a credit, and automatic Shopify registrations don't use credits. Enterprise is by quote. Docutize's plans are $49, $149 and $399 a month. Each includes a monthly claim allowance, and claims over it cost 15¢ each and are never blocked. See Docutize's plans.

Does Dyrect work with stores other than Shopify?

Yes. Its integrations page lists WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix and Squarespace as well, and its FAQ says Shopify has the deepest connection. Docutize connects to Shopify and imports orders from any CSV; WooCommerce and BigCommerce are coming.
